Although I thoroughly enjoyed that little taste of ‘winter’, I am extremely satisfied with the return of the typical west coast January weather–the good ‘ole Saseenos snow hill may need a few seasons to recover from our recent snow shenanigans…
Our week ended on such a high note with another successful PAC Popcorn Day in the proverbial books. Thanks again to Kerri and Kris for orchestrating this hotly anticipated event. We had many happy humans munching on popcorn outside this afternoon!
We were very fortunate to host a special event this Tuesday past, as we enjoyed a performance from the ‘Cascadia Strings’. This is a local string quartet consisting of 2 violins, a viola and a cello. Their offering of a ‘Journey Through Musical Time’ captivated staff and students alike! We were immersed in this metaphorical journey through time, via a large range of repertoire offerings, transporting listeners from Baroque music of J.S. Bach, through Classical/Romantic works of composers such as Beethoven and Chopin, to modern day hits of Taylor Swift & Disney, with elements of lesser-known compositions, highlighting Canadian works, Black composers, and female composers as much as possible. It was a fantastic experience and highly recommended.
