River Runner Weekly – April 19. 2024

Good morning River Runner families, I hope you this message finds you well at the culmination of another week here at Saseenos Elementary.  As I sit in my office, composing my weekly message to families, I can’t help but feel so fortunate to look out the window at the prospect of a beautiful weekend here on the west coast.

We enjoyed an action-packed 3+ days here in the land of the River Runners, highlighted by a very successful Scholastic Book Fair this Tuesday and Wednesday past.  Thank you to our resident Teacher-Librarian, Julia Kent, who facilitated another successful literacy-inspired event for our school.  And to all of our volunteers, we very much appreciate your help with this one!

Please save the evening of Thursday, May 30 on your family calendars if at all possible.  We are planning a Saseenos Family Gathering, which will run from 6:00–7:30 pm, and will essentially follow an open-house format.  I will send out more details as we get closer to the date, but this will provide an opportunity for families to enjoy many of the great things that happen here at our precious little school.

Please note that our Bottle Drive, originally scheduled for this weekend, has been cancelled.  Unfortunately we do not have enough volunteers to make this one work, but we will definitely try again at some point in the future.  I would like to take this opportunity to pass on my heart-felt gratitude to our amazing PAC for all that they continue to do for our school community.

I’d like to thank all of our families for the support and understanding you continue to offer us here at school.  Without a trusting relationship between home and school, educational success is difficult to achieve.  Please continue to reach out should you have any questions and/or concerns, as we will always do whatever we can to support you and your little one(s).
