Sept. 26, 2025
Dear River Runner Families,
We finished up a busy week with a great day at French Beach. Our Westcoast River Runners know how to play outside! Thursday, we celebrated Terry Fox and all he accomplished as well as supporting cancer research. Everyone was outside moving just like Terry!
- Next Monday we are asking everyone to wear Orange to honour Indigenous Children who were lost to residential schools, their Survivors, and families, and to acknowledge the ongoing impacts of the residential school system. We will have an assembly at school as well as share and exchange what we are learning about the Dhitidaht language with some students from EMCS.
- Tuesday is no school as we honour our National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.
- Thursday is our Grade 2-5 Sooke Elementary Schools Fun Run at Poirier at 3:30. Look for information coming home if your child is running.
- Remember we head outside in almost all weather. Please dress your children up for spending time outside each day. Thank you
Information From Our PAC
- A HUGE thank to everyone who has been working hard fundraising with our Community Value Coupon Books. This is a huge fundraiser for the school and we’ve appreciate everyone’s hard work. Just a reminder all the books need to be returned no later than Wednesday next week. If your child has not returned their book by next Wednesday they will receive a letter home on Thursday. It is of the upmost important we do get those books back as the school will be expected to cover the cost of all lost books.
Thank you again!
