Dear Saseenos Families,

Students have a short week with Professional Development Day tomorrow. Thank you to our Grade 4 and 5 families that are talking with their students about respectful behaviour. We are really focussing on politeness, being kind, using WITS to solve problems, and settling in to do your school jobs without back talk or rudeness. We appreciate everyone’s support.

  • We have the Flourish lunch program at our school. If you would like your child on the program to receive a lunch each day, please let us know. Thank you.
  • The District needs Noon Hour Supervision Assistants. Please see the attachment if you are interested or this link: Noon Hour Supervision Assistants On-Call
  • On Halloween, Friday, Oct. 31, our River Runners are welcome to wear their costumes to school to celebrate Halloween.
    • We know that masks are a part of costumes at this age so if face makeup will not do the trick, we are fine with masks being worn at this age.
    • Please keep accessories and weapons at home for the evening.
    • Our River Runners are young and everyone has different comfort levels for blood and gore. Please keep this in mind as costumes are being selected and put together for school. Some students will have a hard time with images of soldiers, skeletons, fake blood, and other costumes related to death or war.
    • Thank you for helping your child find an appropriate costume for the school day.
  • Thank you to our Sooke Lions who are sponsoring the Grade 2 swim lessons again this year. We appreciate the Lions and all they do for our community.
