Dear River Runner Families,
We finished up another busy week with so much learning.
- We continue to focus on playing calmly without hurting each other. This extends to how we move in our school with calmness and thinking of others. Kindness is everywhere!
- We have been visiting the Charters Creek Salmon Hatchery and seeing the salmon coming up the river to spawn. If you have not walked there with your family yet, it is a great weekend activity.
- Next week we have early dismissal on Thursday at 11:30 to make time to invite families into our school. If you are not sure how your teacher is meeting with you, please reach out to them. We look forward to seeing everyone. Busses will run at 11:30 to take students home.
- Saseenos SWAG! We have partnered with Team Sales Victoria to have a clothing order site for staff, students and parents. Shirts and hoodies are available between now and November 18th at Midnight!

- As we spend more time indoors during the cooler months, communities often see an increase in various communicable diseases and our schools are no different. The BC Centre for Disease Control has shared a Quick Guide to Common Childhood Diseases, which includes helpful information. Island Health determines when, what, and to whom information about communicable diseases or outbreaks should be shared. If Island Health directs us to notify families, we will distribute the information they provide to the specific groups they identify immediately. For more information: Communicable Disease Prevention & Control | Island Health.
